I'd like to thank God for all the blessings that he has given me. For Krystal, the girl who is all that I have dreamt of. For Christa, the girl who made me who I am today. For all of the friends here, who support me and put up with me. I'd like to pray for Brin, that he gets the support he needs here in this new place. I'd like to also pray for Krystal, that she finds new and good friends that she can relax with.

"All these people were still living by faith when they died. Thay did not recieve the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were alience and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had an opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country - a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them."

This is the perfect description of Christians on Earth. While we are still on Earth, we live entirely on our Faith, we know in our hearts that God exists, and that we have a seat reserved for us. That is us seeing the 'things promised' from a distance. If we think of the sins here on Earth, it is also very easy for us to return to that state which we leave behind on our walk with God. If we dwell on all of the (temporary) pleasure that sins provide us, it would be easy for us to return.
But instead we long of a better, heavenly country. God's Country. This is the attitude that makes God proud. I pray that I make God proud with what I do and say.

Isaiah 7:9b

If you do not stand firm in your faith,
you will not stand at all.

This relatively small verse holds worlds of wisdom. I could go on for hours about it. Instead, I will give a few small thoughts on it, and let those sink in. Too many cooks, and that whole bit.
But it is apparent that one who does not have any faith has no footing to stand upon. Religion is what you base your life on. Perhaps you have no set god, no set altar, no set practices. Perhaps you worship money, sex. These are your religion. Everything you do is for them, thus, your life, beliefes are based on them. The obvious shortcomings of this practice is, of course, it's temporary state.
Christianity is based on the eternity that is God. We do things here on Earth, in such a limited time, to decide where we will spend the next (infinity?). Money can't get the kind of satisfaction I get from knowing I share my faith with others who support me, whom I will see in Heaven as we praise the Father together.
I know that when I can stand up for my beliefs, stand by them in time of trial, in times of weakness, that I can stand firmer the next time, knowing God will provide. When money runs out, that 'god' is lost. You have no faith, you are without purpose, no drive. But God can never disappear. God is always there, for us to talk to, to guide us, to teach us. It is difficult to let Him steer us, but if we submit to Him, our lives will be all the better for it.
I can stand in my faith. I can stand in life.
